Glenn Beck, an ultra-conservative talk show host has lost more than 30 advertisers on his show after calling President Obama a racist. Well deserved Mr. Beck.
I had listened to Glenn Beck's show about 3 times before realizing that the man is completely off the reservation. There is no doubt that he makes good points on some issues and that he is an educated person but his views are completely one sided.
In my opinion there is no place now in this country for the either ultra-conservative nor the ultra-liberal. Political parties and talk shows should begin to understand this trend and move on from the bull shit Far Left vs Far Right issues. We are a nation of free thinkers and our government should follow OUR trends not the opposite way.
While I do not agree with most of the things the Obama administration has done to date I do not believe he is a racist. There is always the risk that the public will misconstrue a Black or Hispanic man complaining about any racial issue as racism towards whites. While I agree that our society still needs to learn that EVERYONE is equal, the Latino and Black communities need to move on and stop complaining and do something REAL about our situations. Buckle down, get educated, do good, and change the opinion of our races the right way; by becoming important and influential parts of our community.
In the end Mr. Beck played right into the hands of the far-left. Showing exactly why the minority communities rose up against the conservatives in the 2008 elections.

While, I do not believe that all people are equal (not a matter of race but rather a matter of being a contributing member of society) I would agree that we, as a country, need to be more open minded and not take every race-related comment or topic and turn it into racism. Beck has the right to say whatever he'd like, but his sponsors have the right to back down if they don't like it. We have those freedoms. Not everyone will appeal to everyone else, but as you said, being so one-sided will not get us anywhere any time soon.

My problem is that Glenn Beck is a nationally syndicated talk show host. He influences millions of people and comments like the one he made or the ones Rev. Al Sharpton consistently make do nothing but re-ignite tensions.
We need to move on and talk about racial issues openly without playing the race card or without the fear of being called a racist. There is no doubt that racism still exists in this country and in most countries but creating tension about the subject is not the way to solve it. Take a look at how we describe President Obama. We need to accept our President as a man like any other, not "The First Black President". It's over, President Obama re-wrote history, it's great, let's move on. He is our President plain and simple.
There is no reason why someone should fear using the word "Black", "Asian", or "Hispanic" in public. Creating more animosity on a subject that is still tense gets us no where. To be fair, the President himself did nothing to help this issue. There was no need to get involved in the arrest of the Harvard Professor.

I first heard of Glenn Beck when I read his book a couple years ago before he got the show. I really liked his book and thought that he was an OK guy. But the more I see of him going off the wall on his ideas like he's been doing on the show, the more I feel he's committing media suicide. If he honestly wants people to listen to him, he needs to step back and think before he talks.
I am all for people sharing their ideas. And I don't mind of he has his opinions, or gets fired up sometimes, but he seems to be very big headed for his shoes and I really can't stand for the guy. Not until he does things differently.
