Blackwater in Afghanistan

An article came out today that exposes a secret CIA mission that used contracted security through Blackwater to eliminate Al-Qaeda. There has been an uproar about this because the United States is not supposed to engage in assassinations of any kind. My question: When fighting an enemy that abides by no formal rules of engagement, why should we?

Terrorists have destroyed the World Trade Center, parts of the Pentagon, hotels and embassies throughout the world, ships, and attacked their own people. When they take a hostage there is no such thing as a Prisoner of War. A hostage of one of these organizations is dead once they are captured. Did Al-Qaeda follow rules of engagement when they cut off the head of Daniel Pearl? Why should we care if the United States assasinates their leadership? Controversies like this make our nation weak. There are too many organziations in existance today, too many media outlets that make our intelligence and military's job more difficult and our country less secure.

One of the aspects of the Obama administration that I admire is their willingness to continue Predator UAV attacks within the national borders of Pakistan. These are unmanned aircraft assasinating terrorist leaders. Guess what? Its working. Al-Qaeda does not know what to do about these relativley silent killers and ever since the Pakistani government stopped criticizing the attacks and started supporting them they have had positive gains in securing the lawless regions of that country.

What I'm saying is lay off. War is dirty and if those terrorists didn't want the full brunt of American power then they shouldn't have messed with us in the first place. Guess what liberal media and amnesty groups? If you don't like it then too bad. I, for one, hope they take out every terrorist on this planet. I hope they take them all out for my sake, my children's sake, and the sake of innocents all over the world and I really don't care how they do it.
